UBS adviser jumps to US Capital Advisors - November 4, 2010

Nov 4 (Reuters) - US Capital Advisors, the Houston-based firm started by UBS veteran Patrick Mendenhall earlier this year, has hired another financial adviser from his former company.

Edward Randall IV spent eight years at UBS (UBSN.VX) (UBS.N), according to filings with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Randall had a long affiliation with UBS and its predecessor firms. His father, Edward Randall III, was the chief executive officer of Houston-based brokerage Rotan Mosle when it was acquired by PaineWebber Group in 1983, and subsequently sat on PaineWebber's board of directors. PaineWebber was bought by UBS in 2000.

Randall oversees around $200 million of client assets, according to a source familiar with his business.

Last month, Mendenhall hired a four-person team from UBS overseeing $450 million of client assets
